Introduction to ChinPaoSan Obituary Platform
ChinPaoSan Memorial Group wanted to offer an innovative and dignified way for families to honor their loved ones through an online obituary platform. This new platform would allow users to create, share, and preserve memories in a collaborative digital space, providing a modern memorial experience that reflects both the traditional and evolving needs of mourning families.
Project Goal: Create an online obituary platform that connects families, friends, and loved ones in sharing heartfelt memories while navigating the process of loss.
Define: Competitive Research & User Flow
We began with competitive research, analyzing other online obituary platforms to identify gaps and opportunities for ChinPaoSan to differentiate itself. The research highlighted the need for a more personal, collaborative approach, where both the host (families) and guests (friends, colleagues) could actively participate in the memorial process.
Based on these insights, we mapped out the user flow, ensuring intuitive navigation that allowed users to easily create and interact with obituaries, leave messages, and share memories. We focused on optimizing both the guest and host experiences to ensure seamless interaction and participation.
Key Insights: The need for emotional connectivity, ease of use, and a collaborative space where multiple users could contribute to the memorial.

Designing the Obituary Platform
After defining the user flow, we created low-fidelity wireframes for both guest and host experiences, ensuring that each type of user had a tailored journey through the platform. These wireframes were then transformed into high-fidelity prototypes, focusing on seamless interaction and an emotionally resonant design.

Special Story: Madame’s Passing
During the platform’s development, we had the honor of using it to create a heartfelt memorial for Madame, the wife of the founder. This personal experience with the platform deepened its meaning and demonstrated the emotional impact it can have on families, friends, and colleagues.

This collaborative memorial experience allowed families to come together, sharing memories and finding comfort in connection during times of grief.
